CRITTERS & BOYS.....
This cute little "tree frog" just thinks he is hiding from whatever or whomever!!
This cute little "tree frog" just thinks he is hiding from whatever or whomever!!
Till someone spotted him......
Look at this cool lizard...
we call them "Alligator Lizards".
I just love it when the boys go exploring and find neat little critters.
The only thing I ask of them is NOT to pick up a snake, "Oh Grandma" is what I hear, come get me and I will take the pictures, grandpa can get the snake.
Sounds like a plan to me!

OUR LITTLE MAN!
AWESOME WEEKEND.....
Caleb came to spend the weekend with us and Kelby (the oldest) went to spend the weekend with their other Grandma.......boy did I miss him.
Hope all of my sweet dear friends had a wonderful & blessed weekend.......
I know I did....cause I spent it with our "little man".
Chillin out Friday night in his recliner watching his favorite cartoons.
Of course Grandma here sleeps tries to sleep with "little man"...not much sleep for me.....boy does he toss & turn a lot!
We get up Saturday morning and I fix him a special breakfast....ghost pancake (whole wheat) & bacon.....yummy!
Needless to say Caleb eats every bite!!!
Yes....that is powdered sugar sprinkled on it...but no syrup!
We go and run some errands and then off to visit Great-Grandma (my mom).
Do you see what the little stink is about to do.....
stick his tongue out...like I said he is a stinker!
Before we leave my moms Caleb wants his picture taken by the neat entry way in front of the building. This Grandma is not about to pass up any opportunity to photograph him.
So here it goes...click..click...click....
HAPPY SMILE!
Now it was time to go Pumpkin Shopping.....
Caleb was so excited....he has a blast picking out pumpkins!
My energizer batteries are running down about this time.....
So it was time to go back to the house...I was so ready for a little nap.....of course Caleb was not wanting to take a nap...but I won that argument!
Busy night...cooked supper and Caleb & I made cupcakes....I was good, I did not eat one, not even a bite......trying to shed a few unwanted pounds!
Caleb decorated his cupcake and then......
he ate it "ALL".....surprisingly it did not wire him up.
Sunday.....an adventurous day.....Caleb & I went on
2 walks......morning & afternoon.
We discovered lots of nature and had lots of sweet talks.
I thank my Lord everyday for our 2 sweet & wonderful grandsons. I thank him for allowing me to make so many precious memories with them.

COME ON LET'S TAKE A WALK!
Be careful going down the hill as we take our walk....
Notice that the leaves are turning right before our eyes.
Such a beautiful painting of NATURE!
Now look very closely to your right.....
Yes you do see an "Owl" and a "Face"......that is a Hubby thing.....but the grandkids love it!
Let's go a little further down the hill.....watch out for turtles....they cross here a lot.
Oh....I see some beautiful yellow wild flowers....let's go check them out......do you know what they are?
"FOR YOU"
A beautiful bouquet for my dear sweet friends!
Beyond the fence is our neighbors farm.....
I guess we are ready to go back up the hill......
Hang in there.....I know it's harder going up than going down....
but we are almost there where we will sit a spell and rest our weary legs while we sip on some hot cocoa.
I hope you enjoyed our little walk today....please come back and we will do it again!

Happy Monday!
The bright reds and purples we see in leaves are made mostly in the fall. In some trees, like maples, glucose is trapped in the leaves after photosynthesis stops. Sunlight and the cool nights of autumn cause the leaves turn this glucose into a red color. The brown color of trees like oaks is made from wastes left in the leaves.
It is the combination of all these things that make the beautiful fall foliage colors we enjoy each year.
Rain! Rain! Rain!
Yesterday the hubby & I drove towards East Tennessee to look at a tractor and I noticed the trees are starting to turn from green to a yellowish color......Yeah! Fall is just around the corner......love the cool crisp air every morning!
From www.sciencemadesimple.com
I don't know if they know this but this is not "science"....it's God's wonderful creative artwork!!!
As summer ends and autumn comes, the days get shorter and shorter. This is how the trees "know" to begin getting ready for winter.
During winter, there is not enough light or water for photosynthesis. The trees will rest, and live off the food they stored during the summer. They begin to shut down their food-making factories. The green chlorophyll disappears from the leaves. As the bright green fades away, we begin to see yellow and orange colors. Small amounts of these colors have been in the leaves all along. We just can't see them in the summer, because they are covered up by the green chlorophyll. I don't know if they know this but this is not "science"....it's God's wonderful creative artwork!!!

BUSY DAY FOR ME....HOW ABOUT YOU?
I have been trying to catch up on some much needed outside work.
I prefer working outside in this 70-80 degree weather....seems I can get more done!
If my back holds out I might get it all done............
yeah right...........before winter hits.
Cleaning up flower beds.....they all need mulch!
Look what I found in one of the flower beds.....one of the Texas Grasshoppers....I thought they had all died out......usually we do not see them around this late in the year......I guess he or she likes it here!
Sun-Bathing!
Thinks he/she is hiding from me!
Have never seen one of these......they grow about 4-6 inches long. They do look a little eerie but they are a very pretty critter!
Hope all of you have had a wonderful and productive Saturday!

WE HAD A PARTY!
We had a great Birthday Party for our 2 grandsons last weekend.....
lots of good food.....decorations and fun with friends & family!
The Theme was Reptiles & Arachnids!
Here is the cake I made for the boys
This is the first time I have ever made a cake like this.....I had a blast making it and I learned a few things along the way.
The snake is made of edible fondant (homemade fondant). All of the kids at the party had to have a piece of the snake to eat....
This is a shot I captured of our little Caleb admiring their cake (love this pic)!
Below are a couple of shots of the decorations that our daughter pulled together for the party....she did a great job!
We had snakes and spiders all over the place......and the boys loved it!
By the way they got a "REAL" snake for their birthday....they named it "BONES"!
Birthday Boys blowing out their candles!
We had a wonderful time......hope you enjoyed the pics!

"HAPPY LABOR DAY"
Wow! I can't believe it has been a month since I have posted.
Hope everyone has had a wonderful weekend....we finally got some rain.
Time is going by too fast.....I am here to tell you there are not enough hours in the day....but I'm sure you already know this. Working, canning jams & jellies, cleaning, cooking....barely have time to eat and most of all spending as much time as possible with family. It makes me tired just to talk about it....so now I will hush!
I am making a special B-day cake for the 2 grandsons for this coming weekend. Their party theme is "Reptiles & Arachnids" and I am having a ball with this cake. I will post pics after the party.
God Bless All of You and Be Safe!
